Pages on Tour
The Pages have a tour coming up? I'm just now learning about this. That's what I get for not keeping in touch with Jonathan. If I'm going to get this community ready to be pimped on the mailing list, now would be the time.

PAGES OF THE BOOK is a four piece band with a cutting edge take on Classic Rock. Based in Los Angeles, they finished their first studio recording under this name in May of 2004. THE PAGES aspire to pack frenzied stadiums around the world for decades to come. They hope to achieve this as independently as possible but understand the process requires an entourage of proffessionals who can deliver this music to a global audience.

THE PAGES have been featured on radio station 95.5 KLOS, Los Angeles, and have performed successfully at numerous Los Angeles area clubs. They headlined, and sold out at the Viper Room 8/7/2004. Of their debut CD, DJ Dion Jackson (KLOS) said, “excellent job fellows…that is one really nice CD…the guitar work, especially on ‘Page 217” is exceptional.”

THE PAGES posses a constantly expanding repertoire of original music combining a modern punch and pop sensibility with all the grace and style of classic hard rock. Musical influences include Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Soundgarden, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Sabbath, Robin Trower, Jimi Hendrix, Tool, and U2.

As is indicated by the message, the email came with an attachement. This was a flyer that can get you into the show for a measly six bucks. Even though, theoretically, there's nothing to prevent me from just printing up a bunch of these flyers and handing them out, I don't feel right posting it here without an "ok" from famous_rockstar.

Feedback
So, I know that there's really only one person who might be reading this (airaleia), but I'm going to post this message like there's a point to do so anyway.

So I guess that the Pages are looking for feedback. I've never seen them perform (*shakes fist angrily*), but for those of you who have, drop famous_rockstar a line at jonathan@pagesofthebook.com.

Grrr.
I do have a gripe, though. My fiancee, Cass, was looking forward to going to the Paladino's show with me this Thursday. Unfortunately, I just found out that, apparently, Paladino's is strictly 21 and up. The same is true of the Viper Room. Cass won't be 21 until the end of the year. I found this out from Jonathan's sister, who hasn't been able to go to his concerts for the same reason.

Come on, Jonathan, get some gigs somewhere Cassie and your sister can go watch you.

Whoo-Hoo
I'm finally going to get to see Pages perform! Probably!

Jonathan is my best friend, yet I've never seen his band perform, either as Pages or as Fluid. I've heard recordings, and I've heard Jonathan play around on his own when we were just hanging out, but I've never been to one of the band's concerts.

This Thursday, July 29, however, I'm going to be in Southern California, and I'll most likely be able to go to the show at Paladino's. Hooray! It doesn't look like I'll be able to go to the Viper Room in two weeks, like I was hoping, but them's the breaks. At least I'll finally get to see them play.

Current Mood: excited

NEW MEMBER!!!
I would like to extend a warm welcome to this Community's first member that isn't me or an alias of me: airaleia. Well, of course, there's famous_rockstar, but that doesn't count, seeing as I created the account and I haven't had a chance to talk to Jonathan since, so he doesn't even know about it yet.

Anyway, I can't say much about airaleia. The account was created within the past two weeks, and there are no entries as of yet. It does appear to be a female's name, but I'm not going to make that assumption; I've done it before and been wrong.

Regardless of gender and origin, I welcome you, airaleia, to pagesofthebook. When you get a chance, please feel free to introduce yourself.
